One of the most popular shirts in USA today. It’s a part Cherokee, so that was a selling point to me. I wanted one big sewn t-shirt that would look good on all my team members and… We all use the back of our shirts, so I thought it would be cool to put a quote on each shirt. The color scheme and design were inspired by my grandfather’s back when he was a soldier.

I am part of a family of black men who have always had an affiliation with the Cherokee tribe. We wear their traditional Navajo headdresses, and we fought in the resistance against the white man’s tyranny. Our ancestors lost a lot in battle to win honor for themselves and our people. So I’m proud to wear this shirt because it represents that struggle and pride for that century we lived through. I’m not much of a fashion person. I love Old Time’s and what the old timers wore. When I am going out to eat, my friends are always complimenting me on my outfit (or wearing it) but never mentioning which restaurant we went to.

This is a great shirt to wear it with and if you want to celebrate the Cherokee Nation day of peace, this would make a great gift. It costs $24. I’m part Cherokee, so no matter what you say about my husband and the fact that I married him to a member of his tribe, it’s pretty much true. We had a heirloom cloth bag made for us by our great-grandmother (pictured) in honor of her birth on May 21st (the same day we were born!).
